In 2011, Team OLA was started to:

• Raise awareness of Mission of Our Lady of the Angels
• Offer up sacrifices of time, energy, and physical discomfort for the Mission and those it serves
• Raise funds for the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels
• Have fun!

Between 2011 and 2017, Team OLA sacrificed thousands of hours training for the Mission. The team has been able to raise $464,200 in the process! We are so grateful for all of Team OLA’s efforts. With the help of our team, friends, and of course, God, we think we can reach our 2018 goals of: 100 Team OLA members Goal Met!  Raise $150,000  All runners paired with an actively praying member of the prayer team

Here are some reasons you should join the full and/or half marathon teams:

• Running Perks: GUARANTEED ENTRIES to the Chicago Marathon, T-shirts, training advice (if wanted) from Sr. Stephanie a former NCAA D1 cross-country/ track athlete and 2:53 marathoner, periodic motivational e-mails, pre race Mass & dinner, place to stay the night before the race, transportation to the starting line and from the finish line - and much more!
• Spiritual Perks: Each runner will be assigned an ANGEL/ PRAYER WARRIOR to specifically pray for their intentions during training and during the race. Runners are also remembered daily in the prayers of the Franciscans of the Eucharist.
• Easy fundraising: Sample letters and other fundraising information will be provided.
