May 1, 2020 Sr. Macey and Sr. Emily Become Novices

Sr. Macey and Sr. Emily entered the novitiate on 5/1/20! Novitiate is the 2nd stage of formation in religious life. Sisters receive the habit and the veil when they become novices. A white veil indicates a sister is a novice. Novitiate is a time of more intense prayer and discernment in preparation for vows. In the Franciscans of the Eucharist of Chicago, novitiate is 2 years long.
