OUTREACH - SHARING OUR FAITH: RETREATS
Using the church and former convent building, the Mission provides space for various retreats, including (but not limited to):
· College alternative break trips (Catholic AND non-Catholic schools)
· Adult service retreats
· Independently organized retreats (e.g. RCIA retreats, young adult retreats, staff retreats for parishes etc.)
The Franciscans of the Eucharist of Chicago do many retreats for various ages at parishes/ organizations. Please contact us if you are interested in the Franciscans coming to lead a retreat at your location.
Here is an excerpt of a reflection of a retreat participant:
"Serving the people was fantastic and many of the kids commented on how wonderful it was just to do something as simple (and profound) as handing someone a bag of apples or a loaf of bread. They loved the smiles and the interaction with these people who they had not met before. Many even commented on how they liked cleaning the sidewalk, believing that it made the neighborhood more home-like. This gives me great hope for the future of our Church!" For overnight or smaller day retreats, the convent can accommodate groups up to 35 people. The convent building has 35 individual bedrooms on two separate floors (one for men and one for women). There is a full kitchen, large dining room, multiple sitting rooms, and, most importantly, a 40 seat chapel. (Click the pictures below to enlarge.)
For day retreats, the church can easily accommodate groups up to 100 people. The church basement is used for talks, small groups, and meals. The upstairs can be used for prayer and Mass. (Click on the pictures below to enlarge)

Minors? We cannot have anyone under the age of 18 stay overnight in the convent. Minors are welcome for day retreats in the church and convent. However, we would be excited to come to your parish/ group to do a retreat for youth. Please contact us.
Sacraments? If your group is not coming with a priest, it is very likely that Fr. Bob will be able to offer Mass for your group. Details can be discussed once the retreat is scheduled.
Please e-mail HERE (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call 773-486-8431 to discuss scheduling a retreat for your group.
We are limited in our ability to provide space for individual retreatants at this time. However, please do still contact us HERE (email@example.com) to see if we can accommodate your need.
