OUTREACH - SHARE OUR FAITH: RETREATS AT THE MISSION

Please see the preaching page if you’d like to as a Franciscan to lead a retreat at your location.

The Mission’s outreach center includes a 57-bedroom retreat center! We would love to consider hosting your retreat.

• College alternative break trips (Catholic AND non-Catholic schools)
• Adult service retreats
• Independently organized retreats (e.g. RCIA retreats, young adult retreats, staff retreats for parishes etc.)
• Please contact us with other ideas and we can see if it is possible!

Facilities:

• 57 bedroom retreat center. Each larger retreat room contains 4-5 individual bedrooms divided by 10 ft high walls with curtain doors. The larger retreat rooms are divided into men’s and women’s sides. Each side has a large public bathroom containing private shower stalls. 
• Conference room & breakout rooms. The second floor of the building contains a large conference room for talks that can accommodate 70+ people and 8 breakout rooms for small groups. The second floor also has a large café and kitchenette that can be used for snacks and drinks throughout the day.
• Chapel & dining room. The outreach center has a chapel that will fit 60+ people for Mass, Adoration, and personal prayer. The dining room holds 100+.
• Church available. Our large church building is available for day retreats with larger groups of people.

• Cost? Free will offering
• Food? Please contact us. Cooking arrangements vary among groups.
• Minors?  We cannot have anyone under the age of 18 stay overnight in the convent or school. However, minors are welcome to come for day retreats.
• Sacraments? We can discuss Mass, Adoration, and confession availability for your group as we plan your retreat

March 19, 2023 - Spring Break Activities Continue

We were blessed to be joined by groups from Iowa State University, University of Notre Dame, Northern State University (Aberdeen, SD) this week!! We were able to do so much around the Mission, plus we had an awesome Night of Mercy at Jesus Bread of Life Parish where HUNDREDS of people came to Adoration and went to confession! March 12, 2023 - Spring Break Done Right

We had 4 college groups serve with us over their spring break and hosted an awesome young adult retreat from St. Clement’s! It has been such a blessing to use the new retreat center. Thank you to all who have made this possible. The group from Ferris State University’s Catholic Center is pictured below! This group helped with the pantry and building maintenance- thank you for your help!

February 25, 2023 - Retreat Center Welcomes Young Catholics

We hosted 50+ young adults on retreat in the former school this weekend from UIC-Newman! It was our first official young adult retreat.
