July, 25-27, 2014 - Block Parties

We had three block parties in three days on July 25-27! Our largest block party was our "Back to School" block party sponsored by Loyola University on July 25th. Loyola provided over 15 handmade carnival games with over 2600 prizes to bring joy to the children in our troubled neighborhood. A lunch was provided for all who attended and all 120 kids in our summer camp at Kelly Hall received school supplies. They also helped with yard work, IT work, and maintenance projects. Our block party on July 26th also provided lunch for all in attendance, games, food and clothing give aways, and, of course, time for everyone in the neighborhood to get to know each other better. We also had rides on a fire truck for the kids. Here are some pictures.
