VOICES OF THE MISSION: 2016 - 2017 Archive

October 21, 2017 Chicago Avenue Development

We’re excited to let you know that we will very soon be the proud owners of 902 N. Avers. This means that we now have control over those adjacent lots and will be working on a parking lot/ play space next spring/ summer.

Also, as seen above, the City of Chicago secured some money to dig out and replace the gross empty lots at 3800 W. Chicago Ave and 3808 W. Chicago Ave to create a parking lot/ basketball courts as well as a rain garden. We will have full control over this space once it is complete. It is adjacent to Kelly Hall. Thank you Ward 27 and all those involved!

God works in mysterious ways. We worked very hard to try to get the lots on Chicago Ave. few years ago. Now we have them and they will be developed for $0!
September 24, 2017 Tater Tot donation!
Thanks to our friends from Colfax, IL that planted, took care of, and harvested a huge truck load of potatoes to donate to the Mission! We are very grateful.
