Douglas:  Large & in charge!
Mission of Our Lady of the Angels
Are you in awe over all of the good people and
things that surround you,  like this little fellow was
on October 6?
God's love is unconditional.
God's love is given freely.
Love of God and love of neighbour are thus inseparable, they form a single commandment.
But both live from the love of God who has loved us first.
No longer is it a question, then, of a “commandment” imposed from without and calling for the impossible,
but rather of a freely-bestowed experience of love from within,
a love which by its very nature must then be shared with others. Love grows through love.
Love is “divine” because it comes from God and unites us to God.
(
Deus Caritas Est  §18, Pope Benedict XVI)
All mothers have dreams for their children.
Some just need a little help making those
dreams come true.

Last month, we asked: who do we serve?

This month, let's ask: why do we serve?
Answer:  God is love,
and he who abides in love
abides in God,
and God abides in him”

perform their jobs, with commanding authority and
efficiency. He worked for several hours. Later, we found
Douglas on the church steps singing, accompanied by
music provided by the St. John Youth Group and reciting
scripture.  Douglas was large and in charge!  We could easily
envision him running a large business some day.

Whether Douglas has that chance could depend on us.  Our
presence may save him and many other great kids from
drugs and gangs.  Thanks for your help!
